Certifications
Highly regulated industries like defense, aerospace, and automotive manufacturing all push modern machining to the limit. Super-hard metals and alloys; highly advanced plastics, polymers and composites; extremely close tolerances, and strict regulation all make machining for these industries challenging and rewarding. These industries have established certification protocols to help identify shops with the capabilities and capacity to produce the parts they need.
Cat-Wood Metalworks is certified to manufacture parts for these industries and others.
SDVOSB VA
(Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business)
Cat-Wood Metalworks is certified as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business by the Center for Verification and Evaluation (CVE) on behalf of the United States Veterans Administration.
AS9100D
Derived from ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D confers a higher level of quality management with 27 additional requirements designed to standardize and streamline the disparate quality standards recognized by the aerospace industry. Certified under AS9100D, Cat-Wood can produce parts as a manufacturer, contractor or subcontractor for the aviation, space, and defense industries.
ISO 9001:2015
(International Organization for Standardization)
The most commonly held certification in manufacturing is ISO 9001:2015. Conferred by the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and updated regularly, the current version dates from 2015. A company holding this certificate has implemented a quality management system to guarantee quality output in compliance with applicable regulations. Cat-Wood Metalworks has been certified under ISO 9001:2015 since 2015.
ITAR
(International Trade in Arms Regulations)
ITAR was introduced as a United States regulatory regime to help control the export of defense- and military-related technologies, thereby safeguarding our national security and promoting U.S foreign policy objectives.
The certification process for ITAR involves staff training and certification of relevant team members, including vetting of contractors and subcontractors. With our ITAR certification, Cat-Wood Metalworks can participate in ITAR aerospace and defense contracts for complete mechanical assemblies under a broader range of article categories with top-tier contractors and the DoD.
